Concept     Origins

When the governing body of the International Indian School, Ajman consisting of the Chairman Sheikh Sultan Bin Saquer Al Nuaimi and Managing Director Shamsu Zaman C.T. decided to start a new school in Ajman, they wanted it to be a new kind of school. Based on their experience of running the present school, giving nature and farming a central space was proposed to be central to the project. The school had a natural farm and farming was considered an important activity since 2011. A young team consisting of educationists, administrators, designers, architects and consultants was constituted. The name of the school had to capture this aspect of being a “natural home” and hence the name, “Habitat”. The school has been forged into a new model of schooling for the expatriate community of the Middle East. The caption, “Learn something from Everything” points to the vision of acquiring from the surroundings rather than learning restricted to class room teaching and learning.
